Yoshino-cherry tree(Prunus yedoensis Matsumura) has a restricted natural habitat and, is protected as a natural monument. Although being rare, the ambiguity in the origin of this species and comitting a blunder in assigning tree for protection make more difficult ot conserve the trees of the species. There has been a hypothesis that Yosino-cherry tree(P. yedoensis Matsumura) comes forem a hybrid between P. pendula and P. lannesiana in Japan.en
