- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is analyzing the costume of Emperor by reviewing
military suit of Emperor in the photos in the DaehanEmpire. The results are as
follows. First, Emperor Kojong started to wear the clothing of the Great Generalat
the foundation of the division of the Generalin 1899. It seems that Emperor Kojong
already wore western suit according to purchasing records. Second, the military suits
of Emperor Kojong have 3 classes ; 1) Iamal dress of the Great General, 2) casual
dress of the Great General and 3) formal dress of the ex- Emperor. The formal dress
of the Great General consisted of helmet and rip-covered jacket肋骨服 with
eleverr-steeples(1l-人字形裝飾) whereas helmet and single-breasted suit in the casual
dress. The toanal dress of the ex-Emperorwas double-breasted. Third, the uniform
of EmperorSoonjong 15 characteJized by feather-decorated chapeau and nine-steeples
(人字形裝飾). The uniform after October 1907 was worn with the Collar of the
Supreme Order of the Chrysanthemum大勳位菊花章頸飾. He seemed to wear a
downgraded suit of the General owing to the absence of diplomacy right.
