자원으로서 네트워크가 환경NGO의 조직성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

Abstract

거버넌스 경향이 폭넓어지면서 비영리부문간 네트워크 형성을 통하여 자원을 확보하는 경향이 나타나고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 자원으로서 네트워크가 환경NGO 조직에서 유용한 자원으로 역할을 하여, 조직성과 향상에 기여할 수 있는지 실증분석을 실시하였다. 그리고 자원으로서 네트워크 활동이 활발한 주요 환경NGO와 기타 환경NGO에서 차별성을 지니는지 고찰하였다. 분석결과, 우리나라 환경NGO는 비제도적 성과에 바탕이 되는 비제도적 활동을 많이 하며, 조직간 네트워크 규모와 네트워크 동질성이 중요한 자원의 역할을 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히, 기타 환경NGO는 비제도적 성과에서 자원의 속성을 제외하고 네트워크 규모, 네트워크 동질성, 네트워크 협력강도 모든 변수들이 유의하게 분석되었다. 그리고 환경NGO의 조직성과에 유의성을 발휘하는 네트워크 동질성과 네트워크 협력강도는 주요 환경NGO와 기타 환경NGO 모두 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로, 자원으로서 네트워크가 환경NGO의 조직성과를 향상시키는데 필요한 정책적 방안을 제시하였다. The tendency to secure resources by forming networks between nonprofit organizations has appeared as the governance trend has spread wide. This study performed an empirical analysis of whether networks can play a role as useful resources in environmental NGOs and contribute to the improvement of organizational performance. In addition, the study considered how networks differed between the main environmental NGOs where network activity is activated and other environmental NGOs. The analysis revealed that Korean environmental NGs concentrate on non-institutional activities that become the foundation of non-institutional performance and that homogeneity and the scale of the network among organizations play important resource roles. In particular, for other environmental NGOs, all variables excluding resource properties such as scale, homogeneity, and cooperation strength were significant for non-institutional performance. It was found that network homogeneity and cooperation strength, significant for the organization performance of environmental NGOs, gave positive effects on both the main environmental NGOs and other environmental NGOs. On the basis of the results, political proposals for enabling networks to improve the organizational performance of environmental NGOs as resources are suggested.
