- Abstract
- In this paper, we present polymerization
condition at which conductive polymer
poly(3,4-ethylenedioxytheophene) (PEDOT)
known as bio-compatible material was grown
on the MEA(Multi Electrode Array) electrodes
and successively reduced the impedance of
MEA electrodes. Proposed polymerization
condition was selected to be similar to neural
stimulation condition which is safe to neurons,
so polymerization might be executed during the
primary neural culture. We also examined the
polymerization effect on the impedance of MEA
electrodes. Proper impedance of MEA
electrodes is essential for the
neurophysiological studies such as neural
stimulation and neural signal recording.
Although several methods for impedance
reduction have already been developed, all of
them have difficulties acquiring desired
impedance values in the case that initial
impedances are quite different. Our method has
a characteristic merit which can regulate
excessively different initial impedance values.
