Background: Though serotonergic antidepressants (ADs)
were widely used in the elderly patients due to safety and
tolerability, these drugs differ in their affinity for the platelet
serotonin (5HT) transporter and therefore may vary in their
effects on diverse abnormal bleeding including upper gastrointestinal
(UGI) tract.
