Abstract
In order to estimate the effect of the subretinal stimulation electrode we
developed a model for electric field
stimulation of the visual neural system.
Finite Element Method(FEM) and an
active nerve model were applied to the
present work. Distribution of electric
field and neural activation were simulated
from modeling studies. From some
simulations, it was found that electrical
field is not localized in sub retinal area
and it affects other neural area. It is
expected that this study can be helpful
to find optimal set of effective electrical
stimulation and explain the phosphenes
phenomena.
