이후에 근대의 그늘은 여전히 우리를 덮고 있기 때문이다. 계몽주의의 배경 안에는 16, 17세기 이후 중국의 영향과 그에 대한 평가가 직조되어 있어서, 중국을 둘러싼 동아시아 현대사의 얼룩진 역사들과 맞물려 하나의 뚜렷한 관점을 만들고 계승시켜 왔다. 그 가운데 하나는 근대 유럽인의 중국의 언어와 문자에 대한 시각이다. | - |
