The author observed 97 cases of ameloblastoma diagnosed in the Department of Oral Radiology, Seoul National University Hospital and analysed patients age, sex, location, relation with adjacent anatomical structures and rediographic and histologic types. The results were as follows; 1. The average age of the patients was 28.7 years with the mean age of 28.5 years in males and 30.0 years in females, and the highest incidence of tumor was in the third decade. 2. The occurrence of ameloblastoma was approximately evenly distributed in both sexes, 46 cases in males and 51 cases in females. 3. Ninety five cases occurred in the mandibular molar ramus region, and this was the most frequent site of the tumor. 4. Most of the cases affected adjacent anatomical structures and 24 cases were shown to be definitely associated with an impacted tooth. 5. Radiographic forms of tumors appeared to be unilocular, honeycomb, and multilocular radiolucencies. ⓒ1986 The Japanese Society of Dental Radiology.ko_KR
