강희(康熙) 말년의 학술과 『고금도서집성(古今圖書集成)』

Abstract

방대한 전제국가의 통치자였던 강희제의 말 한 마디와 일거수일투족은 의심의

여지없이 모두 다양한 방면에서 국가 전체에 깊은 영향을 끼쳤다. 이른바 윗사람이 어떤 일을 좋아하면，아랫사람 가운데 반드시 그 일을 더 좋아하는 사람이 있다(上有好者，下必甚焉)"는 말이 뜻하는 바가 바로 이런 것이다. 프랑스 선교사 부베(J. Bouvet, 1656--1730)는 이렇게 말했다. 지금 강회제는 찬란한 문화를 부흥

시키기를 갈망하고 있고， 이러한 목적에 도달할 수 있는 가장 좋은 방법은 바로 각종 학문을 중시하는 데에 착수하는 것이다. 강희제가 중국 내에서 다시금 과학과 예술을 발전시키고 이에 따라 자신이 통치하는 시대가 태평 성세를 이루게끔 하기 위해서는 부지런히 학문과 예술을 탐구함으로써 만민에게 솔선수범을 보이고，더불어 이러한 정신을 널리 알리는것，이것 외에는 좋은 방책이 없다."

This article analysis the academic feature of Gujintushu jicheng(古今圖書集成) which compiled and ublished in the period of Emperor K'ang-Hsi, also look through the influence on Qing society that present. It was the major characteristics of this book that is comprehensive in its coverage of current book of Zhuzixue, and

neglect the western learning. The aspect of this book had some connection with his

personal taste. Although Emperor K'ang-Hsi had great influence on nation and development of

Qing culture, he did'nt enlarged the his loving western science - astronomy,

mathematics, geography into nation and people. So, he was a responsibility to lower advance of scientific knowledge in his reign.
