Abstract
Cavitation changes hydrodynamic force on submerged body. And because of its formation characteristics, fatigue can occurs. So it needs to be predicted and controlled. But it requires numerical approaches at wide range of Mach number. In order to compressible-incompressible two-phase flow analysis, a system preconditioning technique is used. The robust, accurate and efficient numerical approaches [Ihm et al.(2008)] make feasible to analyze two-phase cavitating flow successfully. Various cavitation models are adopted to capture phase transition in cavity. With numerical simulation of cavitating flow around hemispherical forebody and NACA66 hydrofoil, the important features of cavitation are analyzed.
