| dc.description.abstract | 쿠바는 카리브 해에서 가장 큰 섬나라로 알려져 있습니다. 아시다시피 카리브 해 지역은 두 개의 큰 섬과2) 군도로 이루어져 있지요. 쿠바는 멕시코 만(灣)에서 차지하는 지리적 위치 때문에 멕시코 만의 열쇠라 불리기도 했지요. 여러분이 지도를 펴 놓고 살펴보면 과연 그렇게 불릴만하다는 인상을 갖게 될 것입니다. 쿠바의 지정학적 위치가 얼마나 중요했는지 짐작하실 수 있을 테니까요. 아마도 그런 이유에서 스페인 식민자들이 쿠바를 제국의 보석으로 간주했고, 마지막 순간까지 이곳을 빼앗기지 않으려고 애를 썼겠지요. | - |
