| dc.description.abstract | Urban population in Korea has grown rapidly in the recent past years. According to the preliminary report of the 1970 census, the urban population is estimated as about 13 million. which constitutes 43% of the total population of Korea. The corresponding figure of the year of 1949 was only 17%. Table 1 shows that urban population has steadily grown since 1949. Rural-to-urban migration in Korea accounts for a significant portion of this increase in urban population. | - |
