Abstract
The aim of this paper to inqury principles of inner construction of Korean textbooks in the titre of enlightenment. This study is related to curriculum of korean language education in pre-modern times. Through this general survey from the time of enlightenment, whole aspects of korean language education in the predecessor of modern will be reconstructed. ill the titre of enlightenment, Korean textbooks are called 'Dokbon', 'Kukmum', which mean 'Reading', 'Korean' or 'Korean language'. Korean textbooks show their features that ; contents of subjects are modernistic, but its style is not modern, chinese letter-driven style, without consideration of school level or study level of language education. ill this titre, macro goals of Korean language education are to learn and use korean letters. And so Korean textbooks have communicative construction-principles. Their subjects are changed to data relative with real living. According to this argument, korean language education in pe-modern times come in products of its hard work to modernization.
