Abstract

National Institute of the Korean Language(NIKL) published 'Korean Grammar

for foreign learners' this year. The two books are 'Korean Grammar for foreign

learners 1 - system', and 'Korean Grammar for foreign learners 2 - usage',

respectively. Compilation of the books began in 2000 for the purpose of providing

the standard Korean grammar to the learners and teachers of Korean as a foreign

language. The two books are complementary in that 'Korean Grammar l' without

'Korean Grammar 2' is not useful because the meaning and usage of each grammatical expressions can not be grasped and the other way is the same.
