This study intends to attract public attention to implicit agreement on student's

literary writing: what kinds of writing and how to write them For this purpose,

this study reviews referee reports of a bestseller student magazine in 1950s and

1960s, published by kim, ik-dal.

Many influential writers at the time and representative canonical authors at present participated as a referee in this magazine. Among them are Cho Jihoon,

Jung Bisuk, Jang Manyoung, Choi Inwook, Kim Yongho, Park Youngjun, No Chunmyung, Arm Sugil, Park Mokwol and Kim Donglee. They played a leading

role in constructing social perception on what kinds of writing are desirable, by

providing exemplars of students' writings and criterions of how to judge them
