해외 한국학과 한국어교육의 전망

Abstract

이 연구는 해외 한국학 보급의 문제점과 그 중에서도 한국어교육의 여러 문제에 대해 한반도에서의 외국어 교육의 역사를 비교등써 고찰하였다. 해외 한국학 보급의 문제점과 그 중에서도 한국어 교육의 여러 문제에 대하여 한반도에서의 외국어 교육의 역사를 비교5때 고찰하였다. 더 이상 한국학은 세계에서 소수민족을 다루는 특수 분야의 학문이 아니라 경제 강국으로서 한국을 이해하기 위한 필요한 학문으로 인식되어 간다. 세계 각국은 잎 다투어 한국학을 대학에 개설하고 우리를 올바르게 이해하기 위하여 노력하고 있다.

그러나 정작 한국에서는 한국학에 대해} 제대로 된 정의조차 정립하지 못한 점을 스스로 부끄러워하면서도 인정하지 않을 수 없었다. 또 한국학에 대한연구 엽적이 체계적이지 못하며 세계인들이 한국을 이해하는데 반드시 필요한 지식들이 제대로 연구되지 못한 점도 밝히지 않을 수 없었다. 이런 현상은 참으로 부끄러운 일이며 삐론 시일 내에 국학 또는 한국학 전공자들이 서둘러 연구하여 채워 넣어야 할 부분이다

한국어교육에서 교재의 미비는 참으로 중요한 문제다. 국가기관이나 준국가 기관에서 외국의 한국어 교육자틀에게 의뢰해 막대한 비용을 감수하면서 만든 교재가 만족스럽지 못한 것은 여러 가지 이유가 있다. 그 가운데 필자가 지적한 것은 한국어를 실제로 펼요한 대화 중심의 교재로 만들지 않으면 안 된다는 사실을 강조하였다 그런 점에서 조선시대 사역원(司譯院)에서 초급 중국어회화 교재로 사용했던 노결대(老ε太)의 사례를 살펴보았다.

세계에서 한국학의 연구는 비약적으로 늘어나고 있다. 이런 현실에서 국학，또는 한국학을 전문으로 하는 연구자들은 잭임감을 갖고 가일층 노력하지 않으면 안될 것이다.

This study examines the problems of disseminating Korean Studies overseas, especially the various problems of Korean language education, and compares them with the history of foreign language education on the Korean peninsula. Korean Studies is not a specialized field of study treating a minor nation of the world; rather, it is recognized as a discipline necessary for understanding the economic power that Korea has become. Many countries of the world are striving to establish Korean Studies in their universities and are making efforts to gain a proper understanding of Korea.

However, I must admit that to our shame we in Korea have not established a proper definition for Korean Studies ourselves. And what is more, I have to say that the research achievements of Korean Studies have not been systematized, nor has the knowledge absolutely necessary for the people of the world to understand Korea been properly researched. This is a shameful state of affairs and something which Korean Studies specialists must devote themselves to studying and correcting as soon as possible.
