The Child-Paradigm and Child-Perspective Conceived in Russian Symbolism

- A strong tendency to perceive the child figure from the inner perspective had been shown in the 19th centurys Russian literature up to Cechov. Based on the construction of that child-paradigm, in the symbolists texts, the child-myth as a different being, a different perception and a different world assimilates into the author' s and the narrators conception and perspective on the world.
The function of the child in F. Sologub is intensely relevant to the dualistic world model and his desire to transcend the reality. Though the child plays a crucial role in Sologubs poetic systems, it does not show its own individual perspective but sti11 remains on a thematic and ideological level: the differentworld of the child is completely invisible.
