대학생의 가치관과 성적 및 만족도와의 관계

Abstract

이 연구는 대학생들의 가치관과 대학 성적 및 대학에 대한 만족도와의 관계를 경험적으로 밝히기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위해 먼저 가치와 가치관의 개념과 특성 등에 대해 이론적으로 논의하였으며, 선행연구들을 분석하여 경찰대학생들을 위한 가치관 검사와 대학에 대한 만족도 검사를 개발하였다. 개발된 검사 도구를 활용하여 경찰대학 재학생 총 199명을 대상으로 검사를 실시하고 분석한 결과, α=0.01 수준에서 경찰대학생의 가치관과 대학 성적 및 대학에 대한 만족도 사이에 유의미한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 학년에 따라서 가치관이나 가치관의 각 하위 영역에 있어서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 요컨대 이 연구는 대학생의 가치관에 대한 기초 자료를 제공함과 동시에 가치관과 대학 성적 및 대학에 대한 만족도 간의 관계를 경험적으로 밝히고 있으며, 대학의 가치관 형성 교육에 대한 시사점을 제공하고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to empirically reveal the relationships among university students' value orientation, academic achievement, and university satisfaction. For this research, two measurement scales were developed: a value orientation test for university students' and a university satisfaction test for students', resulting from two pre-test attempts with KNPU(Korea National Police University) 106 freshmen. The reliability coefficients(Cronbach's alpha) of these tests were 0.93, 0.94, respectively. Through factor analysis, it was identified that these tests consisted of theoretically estimated sub-factors that were being appropriately measured. The test was administered to second, third, and fourth year KNPU students (total 199 students). Through the results of this study, it was identified that there are significant relationships among value orientation, academic achievement, and university satisfaction (p<0.01) and that there are no significant differences among first, second, third, and forth year students in the value orientation. In conclusion, this study empirically reveals the significant relationships among university students' value orientation, academic achievement, and university satisfaction. It also provides some implications for improving the university's value education program.
