고등학교 학업중단율 변화의 지역별, 학교유형별 현황 및 학교 관련 요인 탐색

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 한국교육학술정보원(KERIS)에서 제공하는 에듀데이터를 사용하여 2008 년부터 2010 년 까지 전국 고등학교의 학업중단율의 변화 실태를 살펴보고, 이에 영향을 미치는 학교 특성 요인을 확인하는 것이 다. 학교 단위의 학업중단율을 분석한 결과, 첫째, 전국적으로 학업중단율이 증가하고 있는 추세로 확인되었다. 다만, 그 변화 정도에 있어서는 지역별로 차이가 있어 특히 울산 및 부산의 학업중단율이 상대적으로 빠르게 증가하고 있었다. 둘째, 2010년 학업중단율 평균을 각 학교유형별로 살펴보면, 과학고등학교, 외국어고등학교, 일반계고등학교의 학업중단율이 다른 학교 유형에 비해 상대적으로 낮았다. 셋째, 학교 유형별 학업중단율 변화 에서는 외국어고등학교, 농림업 고등학교, 상업고등학교가 상대적으로 높은 학업중단율 증가세를 보였다. 넷째, 기초학력미달률은 학업중단율의 유의한 예언변인으로 확인되어 기초학력미달률이 높은 학교일수록 학업중단율 도 높았으며, 동시에 학업중단율도 더 빠르게 증가하였다. 마지막으로, 학교의 교육적 노력 측면에서는 교원수가 많을수록, 수준별 이동수업을 할수록, 교원성과상여금의 차등지급을 실시할수록 학업중단율이 낮은 것으로 나타 났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 학교책무성, 교육 현장 및 교육정책과 관련된 시사점 등이 논의되었다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between high school dropout rates and the school related factors using Edudata from 2008 to 2010 provided by Korea Education & Research Information Service (KERIS). Research results showed that there were significant differences in school dropout rates according to school locations and school types. Particularly. School dropout rates increased rapid in Ulsan and Pusan. In addition, school dropout rates were increased rapid in foreign language high schools and vocational schools. The underachievement rates predicted the school dropout rates and its change rates. At the aspects of schools educational efforts, the dropout rates were low when schools run ability based grouping and teacher performance based bonus system. Finally, the implications for educational policy were discussed.
