大都市周邊에 있어서의 工業의 發達과 그 問題點 (서울을 中心으로)

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the spacial structure and its variation in the periphery of the manufacturing region around Seoul metropolitan area which have shown rapid growth in population and industry. The study area is the southern part of Seoul and its neighboring counties as Shihung, Kwangju and Suwon. Data used in the study are statistics(1965-1969) derived from Directory of Korean Business( Chamber of commerce of korea: 1966, 1970) and some statistical yearbooks of the study area and the nation. The writer used ecological approach according to the historical development of manufacturing in this the historical development of manufacturing in this area with regard to the national development of economic history and some quantitative analysis fir the regional structure of industry. Conclusions derived from this study are as follows: (1) The rapid growth of the manufacturing industry during the period(1965-1969) in and dround the city resulted in the aeral expansion of locations towards the periphery without building up any more new nodal region.
