dc.description.abstractIt is generally known that the tectolineaments affects the drainage patterns of the river basin, but so far the relationship between drainage patterns and tectolineaments of the South Han River has not been made known. In order to study this relationship, writer has made an analysis of the date of the draingage patterns and tecrolineaments of the South Han River which were derived from the interpretation of the Landsat images. Writer has drawn the following conclusions.

(1) It may be sajd that the higher the stream order is, the more the tectolineaments affects the drainage patterns. One exception, however, is that the stream order of the river basin is least affected by the tectolineaments. This principle seems to be applicable not only in the South Han River Basin as a whole but also in such smaller river basins as the Choyang, Pyongchang, Som, Chongmi and Dal of the South Han River Basin. (2) The tectolineaments affect the drainage patterns of the granite-predominant river basin. This indicates that the nature of the ground rock plays an important role for the relationship between drainage patterns and tectolineaments.
