Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analysize the heterogeneous constitution and structural charateristics of residents in rural village adjacent to the industrial complex in order to elucidate its impacts on the neighbouring rural community in the standpoint of residents. As a case study two rural villages (Palgog il 1-ri and Dundae 2-ri, Banwoel-Myen) adjacent to Banwoel Industrial Complex were researched. In this study the analytic procedures are as follows. 1) Residents in village are classified into 6 social geographical groups in terms of their residential period and economic activity. 2) The structural charateristics of 6 social geographical groups are analysized with reference to demographic and socio-econimic factors and the way of thinking. 3) The problems of rural community affected by the industrial complex is explained through analysizing the socio-economic relationship in community life. Through these analyses this study has come to following results Since Banwol Industrial Complex was constructed in 1977 the heterogeneous differentiation of residents has started instantly by immigrants. But the differentiation of the natives has realised since 1980's. In the differentiation of the natives three patterns are identified. In spite of the high land-labour ratio the houshold who has old and insufficient manpower continues on full-time farming. However the houshold of the low landlabour ratio transforms into part-time farming. Disergarding the low land-labour ratio, the houshold who has young manpower turns into non-farming.
