機船權現網漁業의 勞動市場과 勞動者 供給圈構造에 관한 硏究 - 統營郡 閑山面을 事例로

Abstract

The coastal fishery in Korea is greatly dependent on condition of natural environments in comparison with the highly developed second and third industries. And it is one of the industries of intensive labor which need a lot of labor, now. By the way, this fishery has difficulty in demanding and supplying of labor because fishing villages to the cities. Nevertheless the importance of the fishery in Korea is increasing in the national economy day by day. But so far, there have been few systematic studies on this fishing labor market. Accordingly I would attempt a study on it to understand the present conditions of Korean fishing labor market under this cognized problem. This paper is focused on the understanding of the characteristics of labor markets and laborer suppy areas in the Kisun-Kweonhyunmang Fishery. In detail, the purposes of this study are follow. First, to understand how do the labor market form, i.e., the formation mechanisms of the labor market and to know what certain characteristics the fishing laborer has. Second, to analyze the structures of the fishing laborer supply area through their places of residence and job networks. This study is based on published materials (mainly chapter 2) and data derived from inter-view and questionnaire survey conducted by the author on August, in 1988 (mainly chapter 3, 4). Also this study is a case study of the KisunKweonhyunmang Fishery in Hansan-Myon, Tongyoung- Gun. Particularly in the fishing laborer supply area, I attempted a comparative study of Hansan-Myon(Tongyoung) and Kusan-Myon (Euichang) in the region.
