Abstract
It is one of the important aims of spatial behaviour research to recognize it's transformation come out from characteristics of cities. It focuses on the interactions between local context and spatial behaviour. For that reason recent studied emphasize the importance of the particulars of local conditions. So it is of great significance to understand whole spatial behaviour of city residents. The purpose of this study is to investigate how characteristics of new town affect spatial movement based on consumer shopping activity and to what degree it depends on Seoul. To find out spatial movement patterns of consumers focusing on space linked with metropolitan Seoul, Bundang new town, being on the stage of infill was taken as study area. The results of this study are as follows. 1. Consumers income, educational background have positive relation with the ratio of shopping activity in Seoul. Moreover, consumers immigrated from Kangnam, Socho, Kangdong, Spatial Pattems of Consumer Shopping Behaviour Songpa-Ku have hìgher consìstency wìth the destination of shopping trip than the others. However, there has nothing to do with the possession of cars. 2. To examine relation with time lag in development process and shopping activity, analysis based on the unit of middle-scale community of Bundang new town was taken. Store choice pattems show differences in Bundang and Seoul.
