지리학에서 경계연구의 동향 - 중 · 동부 유럽을 사례로 -

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 중·동부 유럽의 지리학적 경계연구의 동향을 검토하고 이를 통해서 우리나라의 접경지역 연구에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 함이다. 문헌연구를 통해서 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 1.독일통일과 중중·동부 유럽의 격번 후에 접경지역은 폐쇄적인 공간에서 개방적인 공간으로 변하였다. 그 결과 이들 지역에 대한 관심이 급속하게 증가하였고, 현지조사와 체계적인 자료수집이 가능해졌다. 2.예전의 경계에 대한 관심은 정치지리학의 주요한 관심사였다. 그러나 이제 경계연구는 사회 경제 지리 분야로 확대되었다. 3.낙후된 접경지역의 발전을 진흥시키기 위해 유럽연합은 많은 지원프로그램을 마련하였다. 월결협력과 지역통합의 시도는 유러리전의 형태로 구체화 되었다.4.유럽연합의 확대는 중·동부유럽의 접경지역에 새로운 기회는 제공하게 될 것이다. 5.방법론 상으로 경계연구는 경계의 경관 중심의 연구에서 행위자 중심의 연구로 전환되었다.

The main purpose of this study is to review the geographical border research in Central and Eastern Europe and through this to obtain its implication for Korean border region studies. Through the literature review, the following results can be found: 1. After the Getman Unification and the upheaval of Central and Eastern Europe, border regions have changed from the closed spaces to open ones. Accordingly the interest in these regions was rapidly increased and the fieldwork and the systematic data collecting became possible. 2. The previous interest of the oorder research was the only major objective of political geography. Now the border research is enlarged to the field of social and economic geography. 3. 1n order to promote the development of the lessdeveloped border region, the European Union prepared for many support program. The trial of cross-border cooperation and regional integration between border regions are concretized by the form of Euroregion. 4. The enlargement of European Union will give an new opportunity to border region in Central and Eastern Europe. 5. Methodologically he border research has changed from the oorder landscape-centered approach to actor-centered approach.
