한국 의료서비스의 공간적 특성과 변화

Abstract

본 연구는 의료서비스 환경이 인구 고령화 산업화, 세계화라는 변화를 겪는 시점에서 한국의 의료서비스 공간을 이해하고자한다. 시도별로 전국적 경향을 확인하고 최근 2007년과 2009년의 의료서비스 공간 변화를 시군구 단위로 분석한 결과, 의료서비스는 기관과 인력 대부분이 수도권에 집적하여 수도권 집중이라는 측면에서 여타 서비스와 유사하였고, 수도권 내부에서도 강남지역과 전통적인 도심이 중요하게 나타나며 특화가 심화되고 있어 고차서비스산업의 공간적 패턴과 비슷한 특성을 보였다. 또한 기관의 목적에 따라 공간적 특성이 상이하였으며, 일부 전문과목 의원 및 전문의는 특정지역에서 특화되어 나타났다. 즉 기관 및 인력의 성격이나 전문과목의 특성에 따라 공간 현상이 다르게 나타날 수 있다는 것을 의료서비스 공간 정책에서 고려할 필요가 있다.

This study investigates spatial characteristics and changes of the medical services in Korea. For the purpose, this paper examines the status and percentages of medical institutions in the level of provinces and analyzes the spatial change of medical services in the level of Si/Gun/Gu in 2007 and 2009 through factor analysis. Most of medical institutions and workers have agglomerated in capital region. Spatial distribution of medical services is similar to that of other sεrvices. Within the capital region, Gangnam area and the traditional C. B. D. area appear important in the pattern of medical services just like in advanced services. The spatial pattern of medical institutions on the specific purposes is distinguished from other institutions. It shows that the spatial characteristics of medical services could be different as the purpose of institutions. Some kinds of clinics and medical

specialists are concentrated on non-capital regions. Thus policy makers determining the space of medical services should consider the nature of medical institution, workers and medical specialists, as its nature could influence on the space distribution.
