This study aims to examine what kinds of nationalistic issues are politicized in Korea, China, and Japan, and to explore how they develop into online neo-nationalism. In particular, this study analyzes the development process of online conflicts that arose temporarily but repeatedly in the three countries. According to the findings of the study, the online conflicts were related to territorial, historical, and sociocultural issues and international events of Korea, China, and Japan. In the process of conflict diffusion, the politics of memory, the tendencies of extreme and chauvinistic nationalism, and the particular transformation of stateness in each country were strengthened;thus, neonationalism began to emerge. The findings also suggest that it is needed to promote cultural
communication for open nationalism.
