Electrical impedences were measured by Wheatstone
bridge on the skin of Na ion loaded albino rats tails.
Rats were divided in-to 12 groups , 0, I , 2, 3, · ··
9% of saline solution were injected intravenously to
the first ten groups, respectively. One group was
administered with normal saline as drinking water,
and the rest was fasted completely.
When 1% to 4% of salines were injected, there were
not any significant changes. When 5% to 9% of
salines were injected, there were marked increases of
electrical resistance (20% -50%) and decreases of
electrical capacity, with severe urination.
On the contrary, when distilled water was injected,
there were moderate decreases of resistance (20%50%)
and increases of capacity.
The group which was loaded with normal saline as
drinking water revealed progressive increases in electrical
resistance till 4th day , but suddenly decreased
in the day before death.
The fasted group showed no changes for the time
being but later showed large decrease in resistance on
the day before death.
