전인적 청소년 교육을 위한 스포츠 활용 : 최근 국제 동향과 학교체육에의 시사점

Abstract

국내외를 막론하고 청소년의 문제점에 대한 우려와 건전한 성장에 대한 관심이 폭등하고 있다. 이런 상황에서 우리나라를 포함하여 영국, 캐나다, 유럽 등 선진 각국에서는 스포츠와 기타 신체활동을 적극적으로 활용하여 학생들의 전인적 발달을 위한 다양한 차원에서의 노력을 경주해오고 있다. 본 연구는 청소년교육을 위하여 국제적으로 진행되고 있는 가장 최근의 스포츠 정책 및 활용 사례, 그리고 실천 프로그램들을 찾아내어 특징을 분석한 후, 한국 학교체육에서의 적용을 위한 실천적, 정책적 시사점을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 우선, 한국청소년의 현황과 문제점을 전반적으로 파악하고 체육활동이 청소년의 문제점 해결에 어떠한 도움을 줄 수 있는가에 대한 다양한 시각의 논의들을 살펴본다. 다음으로 현장에 적용, 실천되고 있는 스포츠 활동을 내용으로 하는 청소년 정책, 체육프로그램, 활용현황 및 효과에 대하여 전반적으로 알아본다. 이를 바탕으로 각 프로그램들의 특징을 분석한 후, 한국 학교체육에서의 활용을 위한 실천적 시사점과 정책적 시사점을 구안해낸다. 그리고 향후 한국 청소년을 위한 체육정책 및 학교체육 개선에 필요한 몇 가지 사안들을 제언한다.

The Interest in positive development of youth and the concern about their problems are increased at the same time. Advanced countries such as USA, England, Canada and EU countries including Korea have put various efforts in order to improve the positive development of youth through sport and physical activity. This study purports to identify the practical and policy implications for Korean school physical education. through the analysis of recent international sport policies, best practices, and cases. First, the current status and problems of Korean youth are identified and the discussions on the possible help from sports are summarized. Second, a review is conducted on the youth policy, sport programs, implementation cases, and actual physical education programs around the advanced countries. Third, the characteristics of each programs are revealed through this review, and after that practical implications and policy suggestions are identified for Korean school physical education. Finally, some important points are identified for the improvement of sport policies and physical education practices for Korean youth.
