'국제안보연구' 방법론 고찰 - 동아시아 '안보질서' 연구 경향을 중심으로

Abstract

국제안보가 실증주의뿐만 아니라 구성주의, 탈구조주의에도 기반을 두어 연구되어감에 따라 발생하는 쟁점을 짚어본다. 이를 위해서 이 글은 먼저 전반부에서 미국과 유럽의 학계를 중심으로 탈냉전기 국제안보연구의 분석수준과 분석단위가 심화되고 있으며, 또한 관련 의제도 확장되어가고 있음을 살펴본다. 이어 후반부에서는 아시아에서의 안보연구가 미국과 유럽에서 주도된 이론적 논의를 아시아의 안보현상에 적용하는 수준에서 전개되고 있음을 직시하고, 사례연구로 동아시아 안보질서의 연구에 있어 분석수준 및 분석단위의 심화와 관련 의제의 안보화 경향을 고찰한다.

This chapter lists contending issues of International Security Studies (ISS), as international security events are now analysed not only with the methodology of positivism but also with those if constructivism and post-structuralism. This chapter is made up of two parts. The first part show that ISS have been deepening the level and the unit of analysis and broadening its agendas, for which American and European academic circles have been taking the lead. The second part claims that ISS in Asia have been engaged in applying the theories and approaches developed in the US and Europe to Asian security issues. As a case study, the second part examines the level of the analytical scope and securitization applied to the study of Asian security order.
