Abstract

그는 호주 멜버른에 위치한, 로얄 멜버른 공과대학교 (RMIT University)의 산업디자인 학과 부교수이다. 또한 그는 중국의 포산에 위치한 포산대학교, 항저우에 위치한 저장대학교의 외래교수이며, 디자인 국립협회 (National Institute of Design)의 연구위원이다. 그는 사회 혁신 (Social Innovation)에 블로그를 운영하고 있으며 등한시된 이야기에 대한 글을 쓴다. 그의 학문적 연구와 수업은 당뇨병, 지속가능성, 사회적 혁신과 커뮤니티 지향적인 디자인의 실행에 초점을 두고 있다. 그는 석사와 박사 지도 프로그램에서 디자인 이론, 지속 가능성, 물질적 문화와 사람들의 관행에 초점을 맞추어 진행한다. Soumitri Varadarajan is a Designer and Associate Professor in the Industrial Design Program at RMIT University, Melbourne (Australia). He is also an Adjunct Professor at Foshan University (Foshan, PRC), Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, PRC) and Research Fellow at the National Institute of Design (Ahmedabad, India). His runs a blog (Faint Voice) on Social Innovation and writes on marginal and neglected discourses. His academic research and teaching focuses upon diabetes, sustainability, social innovation and the community orientated practice of design. In his masters and PhD supervisions his students focus upon design theory, sustainability, material culture and peoples practices.
