Abstract
In this paper. I suggest three issues that need further research to advance our understanding of strategic human resource management. First. the concept of high-performance work systems needs to be more rigorously researched . We need to develop a better theoretical framework to deary define the concept and components of high-performance work systems. Second. the relationship between strategic human resource management and firms' performance is vague at the moment. Because of the possibility of reverse causation. we need research that considers longitudinal data analysis . Finally . more researchers need to investigate mediators on the relationship between strategic human resource management and firms' performance . These efforts will greatly increase our understanding of strategic human resource management.
