Abstract
In this study, a silica-formaldehyde (RF) gel composite was generated from the sol-gel polymerization of resorcinol and formaldehyde in the presence of silica sol aggregates. The composite was carbonized and etched with HF solution to produce high surface area porous carbons with pores of <100 nm.
