Abstract
Massive multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems are one of a key technology of 5G to achieve thousand-fold throughput improvements. One drawback of massive MIMO systems is a huge energy consumption occurred by the large number of transmit antennas. In order to reduce the energy consumption, an effective power allocation scheme for multiple users is essential. In this paper, we propose a new channel compression and power allocation technique based on the dominating path selection. From the simulation results, we observe that the proposed scheme can improve the energy efficiency significantly over the conventional power allocation scheme relying the CSI feedback.
