Abstract
We numerically study dynamics of super-continuum generation (SCG) in an ytterbium-doped highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber (HNL-PCF) in the anomalous dispersion regime having a negative slope. In the anomalous dispersion regime, individual soliton pulses ejected by soliton fission interact with doped ions in a quantum-coherent way. This considerably enhances SCG in terms of spectral broadening, flatness, and power scaling.
