프랑시스 풀랑크(F.Poulenc) <바이올린과 피아노를 위한 소나타 FP 119>의 분석 및 연주자적 해석

Abstract

이 곡은 총 세 개의 악장으로 구성되었으며 소나타 형식으로 작곡되었다. 제1악장에서는 고전적인 소나타-알레그로 형식을 바탕으로 제시부, 발전부, 재현부에 각각 도입부를 추가해서 새로움을 더했다. 제2악장에서는 르네상스 시대의 교회선법과 증화음, 9화음, 11화음과 같은 현대적인 화성어법이 동시에 사용되어 다채로운 음색을 구사한다. 제3악장은 변화무쌍한 리듬과 음형의 활용이 돋보이며 반음계적 진행이 두드러지게 나타난다. 그의 작품 속에서 음형들의 급격한 변화들은 마치 음형조각들의 무작위적 나열처럼 보일 수 있으나, 신고전주의 음악적 접근을 통하여 여러 음악요소들의 체계적인 구성에 대한 이해가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 풀랑크의 <바이올린과 피아노를 위한 소나타, FP 119>에 나타난 신고전주의 음악적 양식을 분석하여 이에 적합한 연주 기법을 구상하는 데에 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

This is a study on <Sonata for Violin and Piano, FP 119>, the only violin sonata written by Francis Poulenc(1899-1963). A French composer, Francis Poulenc left many works in various genres, including opera, ballet music, instrumental music, and vocal music. He had led neoclassicism in the first half of the 20th century as a member of the French Les Six group under the influence of Éric Satie(1866-1925). This sonata consists of three movements; the first movement is in fast tempo, the second one is in slow tempo, and the final movement is in fast tempo again. In this sense, it matches the traditional order of movements in sonata form. In the first movement, introductions were added to the exposition, development, recapitulation, respectively, based on the classical Sonata-Allegro format. In the second movement, renaissance church modes and modern harmonies such as augmented chord, ninth chord, and eleventh chord are used simultaneously to create colorful tones. In the third movement, changing use of rhythm and sound patterns stands out, and the semi-pitch progression is remarkable. When playing this work, in musical figures may seem like a random arrangement of fragments. In order to systematically organize and play the piece, we need to understand the neoclassical side of Poulenc. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the neoclassical musical style shown in Poulencs <Sonata for Violin and Piano, FP 119> and suggest directions for devising appropriate performance techniques.
