중국근대신문(中國近代新聞)의 선구지(先驅紙) <순환일보(循環日報)>에 관한 소고(小考) -(2) 창간과정(創刊過程),편집방침(編輯方針),내용(內容) 및 영향(影響)-

Abstract

본 논문은 중국근대신문의 선구지 <순환일보>(循环日报)에 관한 소고의 제2편 으로서， 앞서 제 1편에서 살펴본 <순환일보>의 창간배경과 동기"(前号 즉 제4권 제2호에 게재)에 이어，<순환일보>의 창간과정, 성격과 체재, 편집방침 과 주요 내용을 살펴본 다음, 끝으로 <순환일보>가 중국근대신문의 생성 · 발전에 미친 주요 영향과 공헌에 관하여 고찰해 보았다. 그 결과 <순환일보>는 1874년 2월 4일 왕타오(王韜)가 홍콩에서 창간했는 데, 그 성격과 편집체재 등이 중국인창간의 최초의 근대중국어신문으로서의 요건을 충분히 갖췄으며, 주요 목적은 중국국민들에게 변법자강과 세계열강의 침략으로부터 주권수호 의식의 고취에 있었으나, 통상하(通上下). 증식견 (璔识贝). 우권징(萬劝惩)을 기본적 보도 · 편집방침으로 삼으면서 다양한 내용을 다 루었다. 그리하여 중국인들에게 근대신문의 창간을 촉진하고, 그 정형(定型)을 보여주고, 또한 중국근대신문의 사명과 방향 등을 제시해 주었다.

In this study, searched for the characteristics, format, contents and its influences of the Xunhuan Ripao, the first modern Chinese newspaper founded by Wang Tao in 1874. In results, it was revealed first that the characteristics and format of the paper were modernized and westernized differently from those of the traditional Chinese newspapers as if most of Chinese journalism historians advocate. It was also found that, though its main purpose was to inspire the spirit of reformation and enlightenment into the hearts of Chinese people, the paper dealt with various subjects and contents, not neglecting of the other functions of journalism such as giving informations, enlarging knowledges, reinforcing social norms and so on. In sum, as the first modern Chinese newspaper, the Xunhuan Ripao had lots of influences on the posterior Chinese newspapers, facilitating, shaping and guiding Chinese modern journalism.
