- Abstract
- This letter presents a hybrid boost converter that achieves a 14-V regulated output and multiple intermediate voltage levels in standard CMOS, targeted for an ultrasound imaging system (UIS) application. The intermediate voltage levels are regulated at 3.5, 7, and 10.5 V from a 1.5-V input. For ease of integration with existing intellectual properties (IPs) and for digital back end (DBE) integration flexibility, all switch stresses are kept within 3.5 V for standard CMOS compatibility. Implemented in 180 nm 1P6M standard CMOS process, the hybrid boost converter achieves an efficiency of 78%.
