The first aim of the present study was to develop and validate a measure to

distinguish three specific forms of commitment. And the second aim was to

investigate the moderating role of team oriented commitment on the

relationship between career oriented commitment and organizational commitment,

and between organizational commitment and turnover intention.

Among a representative sample of the business companies' population

I

(N=282), career and team oriented commitment were assessed, in addition to

organizational commitment.

Factor analysis supported the proposed distinction among the three

specific forms of commitment at the measurement level. Furthermore.

results also show that oriented commitment moderated the effect of career

oriented commitment on organizational commitment, and team commitment

on turnover intention. Conceptual and practical implications and future

research needs are discussed.
