Abstract
Total 1,774 terminologies frequently appeared in the eight high-school text books (four kinds of Earth Science I, Ⅱ) are analyzed according to their scientific concepts to test interrelationship of the branches of Earth Science such as Astronony, Geology, Oceanography, Meteorology and Geophysics. Also 1,773 graphs and figures are classified according to their sources and evaluated the possibility of their replacement by domestic materials. The distribution of analyzed concepts are appeared somewhat different according to the branches of science, but four concepts of principle, interrelationship, changes and historicity are dominant and these comprise main concepts which can establish the integrated Earth Science curriculum. The concepts of matter, energy, time-space and evolution comprise the subordinate concepts of the Earth Science. The 76.4 percent of the graphs and figures included in the high-school text books are classified as international materials which can be used by all the countries. But 190 items (10.7%) strongly reflect the local characteristics of the Earth Science, and some of them can immediately be replaced by our domestic materials.
