dc.description.abstractThe propagation velocity of ultrasonics in water at various temperatures has been measured by using the Lissajous figures, The Lissajous figures were obtained by two different methods. One is to move the receiver while the temperature of the water kept constant. The other is to control the temperature of the water while the distance between the transducer and the receiver kept constant. The velocity of sound in water measured by the Lissajous figures obtained by the second method agreed well with the values obtained by M. Greenspan and C.E. Tschiegg J. of Res. Nat. Barau of Standards 59(1957) 249.-
