全羅北道 東北部 地域의 言語分化 : 특히 言語外的 要因과 관련하여

Abstract

This study covers five field areas: 1) Muju-gun, Chinan-gun, and Wanju-gun (including Chonju city) in Cholla-pukto Province 2) Keumsan-gun in Chungchong-namdo Province and 3) Yondong-gun in Chungchong -Pukdo Province. These areas are located along the boundaries of Central, Southwestern (Cholla), and Southeastern (Kyongsang) Dialect Regions, presenting considerable complexities in dialectal pbenomena. While the dialect boundaries in Korean generally correspond to the administrative boarder lines, each of these areas are found to be rather exceptional: dialect differentiation within the same administrative district can be recognizable. This paper aims to measure the degree of linguistic intimacy among the five Gun(county) mentioned above and to indentify non-linguistic factors (especially socio-cultural factors) parallel to the he linguistic intimacy measured.
