- Abstract
- The main theme of this paper represents the research on how to describe the syntactic and semantic relationship among constituents of the German compounds such as Holzkiste, Silberloffel, Gummizahn etc. within the theories of transformational grammar and Montague grammar. Consider the following examples:

(2) Kiste aus Holz
(3) Kiste, die aus Holz ist
