Zu Problemen der Kontrastiven Linguistik : Anhand der Indirekten Rede im Koreanischen und Deutschen Objektergänzungssatz

Abstract

Without doubt the form of language and the relation of language to its contextual equivalence when comparing languages, is of great importance. However, within the framework of contrastive linguistics, the question of whether the form and its contextual equivalence which exercise the same syntactic function should be considered unquestionably as an equivalent category of form, has been ignored. This paper attempts to evaluate the precise answer to this question. In this context, the fundamental problems of translation within contrastive linguistics and its application to the 'teachings of foreign languages is critically discussed, particularly on the basis of indirect speech in German and Korean. The consequences of this approach to contrastive linguistics are also brought into the debate.
