Abstract
This paper argues that pragmatics of yes-no questions in Korean parallels that of English in that Korean also has unpresuppositional usages, primary presuppositional usages, and secondary presuppositional usages, which are categorized on the basis of the speakers presuppositions:(cf. Cattell(1973), Jespersen(1933), Hudson(1975)). Unlike the other ones, the secondary presuppositional usage is a marked case in that it requires hearers confirmation about the speakers positive presupposition through a negative yes-no question.
