This paper has two purposes: one is to propose a new theory for phonological theory using unification-based grammar formalism, the other is to describe Korean phonology with a unification-based grammar called Korean Phrase Structure Grammar (KPSG). The approach of KPSG provides an explicit development model for contruction of a computational linguistic system. It has proven that the system theory is simpler then other system theories such those employing the traditional generative phonological approaches.ko_KR
