Causative sentences, control sentences, and the attributive sentences in the complex NP constructions in Korean show several kinds of gaps in their embedded sentences which correspond infinitive constructions in English. In the configurational languages like English and German the complements of the embedded infinitive clause can not be permutated with other NP complements of the main clause. There are, however, not unusual cases in Korean causative sentences which show scrambling phenomena under the complements of the embedded verb and the main clause verb. I have shown how each of those complements can plausibly be connected with its predicate in the functional structure of the Lexical Functional Grammar. On the other hand several kinds of restrictions on the scrambling problems of control sentences and the attributive sentences of the complex NP construction are discussed.ko_KR
