The study of adverbs correlates with the study of verbs and adjectives which the adverbs modify. This paper take into account the synonyms and antonyms of evaluation adverbs correlating to the adjectives within the limits of Middle Korean.
Evaluation adverbs belong to the state adverbs and are definded as the adverbs which evaluate the truth and falsehood, right and wrong, good and evil, noble and mean, beauty and dirty, able and unable, hardness and easiness etc.
From the viewpoint of word-formation the overwhelming mass of evaluation adverbs are derivated by the adjunction of -i (-이) suffix to the roots of adjectives. And a large number of the overwhelming mass disappeared at present [ex.:olhi, kodisigi, tyohi, saonai, modiri, kuci, aniwanni, timani etc.]. But the part of it continue to exist till now [ex.: koi, kahi, sui, swipsari, nunghi etc.]. The polysemous word of evaluation adverbs partially became monosemous word in consequence of the synonymy conflict with another synonymous word [ex.: saonapta, dimanhada, natpuda, mudonhadaJ. After this the same study within the limits of Modern Korean should be achieved.
