음운론에 있어서의 빈자리 조건

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to investigate the inherent nature of the phonological phenomenon. 1 suggest that processes inserting features apply only to the free/unspecified position lexically. It is formalized as the principle of Free Condition. It means that lexical phonological processes are directing toward the empty /unspecified position. 1 proceed to demonstrate how consistently Free Condition works as an explanatory principle in phonology, based on the data of English.
