In present paper I propose that the morphological processes arising from the formation of stump words in English can be construed cogently under a Prosodic Morphological approach. In other words, I argue that the stump word formation is goal-directed to satisfy the invariant prosodic target, a trochaic foot [μ μ] or its repetition. Owing to Prosodic Satisfaction Condition, the mapping between segmental melody to the template shows close interactions with Extrametricality and the conditions on a Minimal Phonological Word. Subsequent phenomena such as Melody Skipping or Left Edge Condition, can be attributed to the quintessence of prosodic morphological mapping, the template-drivenness. Lastly, I show that the formation of Blends in English can be similarly explained.ko_KR
